How to Resolve the Biggest Dilemma Regarding Your Unrealized Desires

push-down  This post resolves an important problem caused by our adherence to old paradigms.  Take a moment and think about one desire you’ve held a long time, but have yet to realize.

Money?  Health?  A Relationship?

Just Because Old Paradigms Are Familiar Doesn’t Mean They’re the Best Ones to Use

You’re very familiar with the old paradigm I’m about to talk about – the paradigm of determinism.  The determinism paradigm says:

  1. You have a desire
  2. You take action (follow good directions) to achieve your desire
  3. Through your actions you attain your desire

Except that doesn’t always work, does it?  And, when it doesn’t work, what solution does the determinism paradigm offer you?  Just one: try harder!  Find new directions.  Rise and repeat.

But, especially in regards to the long-standing desire I asked you to envision earlier, you know how limited the determinism paradigm is.  You know it doesn’t really work.  At least not in all cases, right?

When the Action-Based Paradigm Fails You (As It Will Regularly), What is Your “Plan B”?

So what are you left to do, within the determinism paradigm?  When it doesn’t work, the only option you have left is one you know only too well.  And a very painful option it is.

You are forced to try to push down, or dampen, your desire.  Your only option left is to try telling yourself:

  • “I don’t really need that”
  • “I can be happy without it”
  • “I probably don’t deserve that”
  • “It’s probably wrong for me to want that”

But you and I know that those messages are lies.  The evidence is self-revealing; you still want that desire.  No matter how much you lie to yourself, that desire never leaves!

There’s a Reason Your Unrealized Desires Remain – It’s Okay for You to Want (and Have) Them

Don’t worry.  It’s not supposed to leave.  The attainment of that desire is not only okay for you to achieve, it’s your birthright as an amazingly powerful creator.

And we are not supposed to dampen those life-fulfilling desires!  That’s too painful a way to live.  Why would you be expected to live a life of pain and absence like this.

The good news is that there is a new paradigm you can use which actually works.  It’s the unity paradigm and, through it, you can realize your desires by conducting yourself in accordance with how the universe really functions.

What Can You Do Instead of Pretending You Don’t Want It?

Instead of dampening your desires (which doesn’t work) you can raise your beliefs to match them. (Click that link to Tweet it) You no longer have to pretend you don’t desire something, you need only raise your beliefs to meet it by consciously telling yourself better-feeling, believable stories about it.

This paradigm works just as quantum physics teaches.  The quantum field manifests your material reality in accordance with your beliefs. (Click that link to Tweet it) Or, more accurately, according to the expectations that your beliefs create for you.

Sublimating your desires never worked for you and it never will.  You were born to manifest.  Raising your beliefs does work, though.  And isn’t it wonderful to know that?

Stay tuned to this blog for more techniques to use new paradigms from quantum physics to improve your physical reality…

Why Should I Believe Quantum Physics When I Can’t “See” It with My Naked Eye?

As everyone has experienced, our world functions pretty darn well using these paradigms and modern Western people are largely free from the rampant disease, poverty, starvation, and physical hardship people suffered before their creation (although many parts of our world still do experience these conditions on a daily basis).

We Still Need Better Fish Tanks

Yet, I will counter that Western people are still in need of better fish tanks (or paradigms) which can easily be seen through our continual quest for not only more personal health, success, efficacy, and ease of being, but also in the ongoing search for fulfilling personal happiness and satisfaction.  The very fact that you are reading this blog speaks clearly to the self-evident fact that, although your life is far better than a 15th Century European’s was, you are still not satisfied with your current fish tanks.  And why should you be satisfied when your inner knowing correctly tells you that better ways of achieving your goals and dreams, of being personally fulfilled, must exist?

Quantum Physics is Not Just for the Smallest Parts of Our Universe

Quantum science does govern the world we see with our naked eye – it is not relegated to the micro and macroscopic universe.  Intuitively you can discern that, if everything in the material world is made of microscopic particles, the larger objects of the material world must adhere to the properties of those particles which form them.

Yet there is another explanation which shows us that quantum physics governs the world visible to our naked eye just as it governs the micro and macroscopic and it can be illustrated using our planet.  You know that our planet is a globe, which is a fact that can be verified with your eyes simply by looking at photographs of it from outer space.  But when you walk out your front door, do you see a round Earth?  Of course not, you see a flat Earth and there is no perspective on our Earth from which you can see its roundedness with your naked eye.  And this is because of the relative size of you versus the Earth, your relative perspective to it.  You are too tiny to have the perspective to see the Earth as a globe unless you leave it and look down from space.  In this manner, perspective also alters your ability to see quantum effects with your naked eye in various ways.  Yet, just as you know the Earth is round even when it looks flat from your perspective, you can also rest assured that quantum physics is governing the behavior of the entire material world even when it still looks like a classical physics world to your naked eye.

The Scientific Explanation for Why We Can’t See Quantum Effects

And there is one fundamental quality of microscopic particles, about which you’ll learn more later, that reveals exactly why the material world visible with your naked eye almost always appears to be one governed by the old science of classical physics: microscopic particles are not actually particles at all. Sub-atomic particles, strange as this might sound, are not actually tangible, physical objects; they are merely possibilities.

Until they are manifest into concrete material objects (which occurs when they are observed), sub-atomic particles exist in a state of pure potential, they are neither particle nor wave and are completely unformed.  The act of observing a sub-atomic particle is what makes it take a definite form and, once in a form (we call observed particles which have taken a definite form a “localized time-space event”) they largely no longer exhibit quantum properties visible to your naked eye.  And, since everything you see with your naked eye is a localized time-space event, it is largely (yet) impossible to observe quantum effects on an everyday level.  Yet, even when they are a localized time-space event, the sub-atomic particles which comprise every material object still retain their quantum properties and abilities.

Additionally, I will add that quantum effects are being found in visible objects.  Buckyballs, relatively huge molecules made of carbon atoms, and even small diamonds have demonstrated quantum effects on a less than microscopic level.  And, recently, physicists Andrew Cleland and Aaron O’Connell (in two separate experiments) created objects, viewable to the naked eye, that each demonstrate quantum effects we can see.  Although the term “see” is relative because it’s probably more accurate to say that their quantum effects can be measured, which is still an amazing feat considering the challenges physicists faced as described above.

When You Stop Saying I Am Fat You Start Solving a Huge Problem

Let’s take a moment from our discussion of the new paradigms from quantum physics  which you need to finally lose your unwanted weight.  Today let’s discuss a practical application of the new holism paradigm in weight loss.

What follows is a “street-level” way to engage the power of the holism paradigm with your weight loss.

I Don’t Care How Much You Weight; “You” Aren’t Fat!

So often, I hear people with unwanted weight say, “I am fat”.  And I almost always cringe.

I have found, through researching quantum physics, that the words we use are very important.  Why?  Because they not only reveal but also reinforce our beliefs.

And here is the problem presented by saying, “I am fat” (which seems like a fairly “innocent” phrase and, certainly, is one everyone seems to use without discretion).  Saying, “I am fat” defines me as a person.  It defines my state of being.

And if you can tell me that the word “fat” doesn’t have negative, if not awful, connotations for you…well, I’m going to tell you that I don’t believe you.

So if I say, “I am fat”, I am defining who I am and my state of being using a very negative word with really bad associations.  Yuck!  How can I feel good about myself under that definition of “who I am”?!

Look How Important the Words We Use Are!  They Make a World of Difference, Don’t They?

But what if, instead, I say, “I have unwanted weight”?  That phrase does not define who I am or my state of being.  That phrase merely describes a current physical condition – which then starts building and reinforcing a belief in the possibility that my unwanted weight is not permanent!

Try it right now.  Say these two phrases aloud and really pay attention to your gut, noticing how each makes you feel

  • First, say, “I am fat”.
  • Let a little time lapse.
  • Next, say, “I have unwanted weight”.

I dare you to tell me you didn’t notice a difference.  And, in addition to the second phrase feeling better, were you lying to yourself or “sugar-coating” your present weight-loss challenges?  Nope…not one iota!

My recommendation is to never refer to yourself as “fat” again!  You’ll notice a big difference in your weight-loss efforts!

Why You Should Stop Using Internet Explorer if You Want to Lose Weight

You’ve been patient (and, I trust, interested) in reading about paradigms (and science) and how you can use them to lose weight.

Let me address the topic of “how” you can use new paradigms to lose weight.

Here Are the Keys to a Bright, New, Shiny, 500 Horsepower Paradigm!

First, as I’ve stated in this blog, a new paradigm like holism will allow you to lose weight.  Much more effectively than the paradigm holism replaces: the machine paradigm.

It might help you to think of your paradigms as the web browsing software you use.  Every day you visit a vast array of websites, for personal, business, and entertainment purposes, and they are all distinct and unique.  But your web browser (whether Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, or any other you might use) is always the constant framework for all the websites you visit, providing the structure for their use and display.

You might not even realize this, but a website often looks and functions completely differently in different web browsers.  The web browser you use presents the web sites to you in a certain format and provides you with unique web surfing options (which are different from other web browsers) while browsing the Internet.

Who Has the Time or Inclination to Think About Stuff Like Paradigms?  I’ve Got Laundry to Do!

You probably don’t ever think about which web browser you use because you are accustomed to it and it is familiar to you.  You wouldn’t really ever have any reason to think about which web browser you use either because the one you use works just fine for you – you get to the web sites you want to visit and you’re able to do everything you want to on the Internet.  Why would you think about it?

But what if your web browser didn’t work for you anymore?  What if you weren’t able to visit the web sites you wanted to go to, what if you couldn’t purchase the items on the Internet you wanted, or what if you could no longer do the things you wanted to on the Internet, like being unable to connect with friends via email or social networking sites?

Your first thought might be to tinker and experiment with the particular websites you’ve been using.  But what if, no matter how many different websites you tried, you still couldn’t do the things you wanted to on the Internet?  You might consult a tech-savvy friend and that friend might tell you something like, “The web browser you’re using is too limited; you should install Google Chrome (for example) and start using it to surf the web.”

Your learned friend, it turns out, would probably be correct.  If you followed her advice, you would have to go through a slightly awkward adjustment period where you became accustomed to the new ways that Google Chrome worked and got familiar with the new format.  But, once you were familiar with the new web browser, you would realize that the slight inconvenience of learning the new ways of operating it was worth it because you could now do all the things you want to on the Internet.

So Paradigms Can Help Me Get On-Line?  I Can Drop My Internet Service Provider?

That is exactly how paradigms work.  If you replace “web browser” with “paradigm” in the previous example, and replace “do the things you want to on the Internet” with “lose weight”, you will have a good illustration of how a new paradigm will work for you.  In the previous example, the “websites you’re visiting” can be replaced with “your weight loss plans and programs.”  Just like using a new web browser would suddenly allow you to do exactly what you want to on the Internet, with new paradigms you’ll find that your weight loss efforts suddenly become super effective.

If you’re like me, you’ll even find that with new paradigms, your weight loss efforts become more effective than you were originally promised!

Because, if you’re reading this blog, your “web browser” (of course, I am referring to your “paradigms”) is not allowing you to “use the Internet” (and, of course, I really mean “lose your unwanted weight”) the way you want.  It’s time to consult your “tech savvy friend” (in this case, I am really referring to my book,  Why Quantum Physicists Don’t Get Fat, and this blog) and get a new “web browser” (once again, I really mean “paradigms”) so that you can “do what you want on the Internet” (again, “lose your unwanted weight”).

Your old paradigms have failed you in your continued quest to lose your unwanted weight (and you’ll soon learn why…hint – don’t blame yourself because it’s not your fault) and it’s time for new ones (which you are about to learn and are infinitely more effective)!

Why Your Body’s Cells are Not Always the Allies You Think They Are

I introduced a new paradigm to you in the last blog post: holism.

Are you skeptical about holism?  Wonder if its a valid paradigm to hold?  I don’t blame you; you’ve known the machine paradigm as the “truth” your whole life  and everyone else (it seems) subscribes to it too.  Well, read on.

Dr. Pert Plus Cells = an Amazing Discovery (See What I Did There?  “Pert Plus”?)

In the early 1990s, Dr. Candice Pert, while serving as the chief molecular biologist for the National Institutes of Health, she made an amazing discovery.  Dr. Pert found that every time you experience an emotion your hypothalamus (a control center deep in your brain) produces a corresponding amino acid, called a neuropeptide.  And when you experience a particular emotion, your hypothalamus floods your bloodstream with billions of the nueropeptides associated with that emotion.

Each emotion-born neuropeptide in ingested by your cells, who “consume” the protein-based amino acids.  The neuropeptide fits into special receptacles on the outer membranes of your cells – like a key fitting into a lock.  And, over time, Dr. Pert found, that your cells build more and more of the special receptacles for the neuropeptides to which they are most often exposed.

My Cells Are Addicted?  I Thought They Were Looking a Little Sketchy

In addition, Dr. Pert discovered that your cells developed a physical “addiction” to the neuropeptides to which they are most often exposed.  Your cells, it turns out, shun other functions in order to ingest these neuralpeptides – virtually turning themselves into vessels used primarily for this ingestion.

There are many ramifications which arise from Dr. Pert’s discoveries and I’ll discuss more of them at later dates.  Of primary importance now, though, is for your to realize that your cells are not “little parts” or you who function solely to serve your greater good; your cells are not little soldiers which only serve their king (you).

Your cells are independent entities who act upon their own physical desires, whether that serves what the larger “you” wants or not.

So My Cells Aren’t On My Side?  Who the Heck Are They Allied With?  Don’t Worry…They’re Still Interested in You and Can Be Trained to Start Helping You Again

You see, the process that Dr. Pert uncovered goes on every moment of every day.  And not only beneath your conscious awareness, but also beyond your control (well, not completely beyond your control; I’ll teach you later how to take back some control over this process).  Your body is not a machine, full of “parts” all working in cooperation for your greater functioning.

Your body is a holistic collection of “free agent” systems.  These systems, it turns out, are often greater than the sum of their parts (“you”) and act independently.  And science has no explanation, literally, for why all these systems choose to work together to create “you” on a daily basis!

Just Start Using the Holism Paradigm and You’ll Recruit Your Cells Right Back Into the Fold

A further illustration of this: preliminary research into your immune system’s production and use of neuropeptides suggests that it may have its own, independent consciousness (separate from “you”).  How’s that how an example of your body being a holistic entity rather than a machine?

The machine paradigm is far too limited to serve your efforts to lose your unwanted weight.  The holistic paradigm is not only a necessary change for you if you’ve been unable to lose unwanted weight, but it will also become the “conventional wisdom” (the paradigm used by everyone) as this century unfolds.

Why Your Body is Not a Machine and Can’t Be “Fixed”

“Okay”, you’re saying, “enough with the back story.  Tell me how I can lose weight with new paradigms.”

No problem.  Let’s start.

Isn’t My Body Just a Big, Organic Machine?  It Has “Parts”, Doesn’t It?

What I’ll write about can be applied, by the way, to solve many other challenges you face, but let’s focus on losing weight for now.  I’ll address solving other issues at later dates.

In my last blog post, I described the four main paradigms which arose from the first scientific revolution and have been adopted by the industrialized world.  The first one I mentioned is the machine paradigm.

The machine paradigm was adopted because the science of the first scientific revolution showed us (inaccurately, it turns out) that everything in our universe could be broken down into smaller components.  And all those components work to serve the larger entity they comprise; the smaller components have “jobs” and their jobs are all related to the maximum function of the larger “machine”.

You Mean I’m Not Just a Calorie-Burning Mechanism That Simply Needs Retuning and Better Fuel?

Think about how this paradigm is present in weight loss.  You have been taught to think of your body as a machine.  Your machine (your body) needs the proper fuel (diet) and maintenance (exercise) to function properly.  If your machine is not functioning properly, all you need to do is correct your fuel and maintenance problems and it will be “fixed” (you’ll lose your unwanted weight).

Carrying the machine paradigm further, you have also been taught that the “parts” of your machine (your body) are all working in predictable fashion and will respond in predictable ways to changes in your fuel (diet) and maintenance (exercise).  If your machine isn’t fixed, your fuel and maintenance changes must not have been the proper ones to make.

But I’ll bet you haven’t found these things to be true in your weight loss efforts.  Most of us haven’t to be sure.  And this paradigm offers you only one option when you find that your changes haven’t worked: since your body is supposed to respond to changes in fuel and maintenance (that’s what the diet promised you, after all), you must seek out new changes to make!

I Always Wondered Why My “Machine” Always Seemed to Be in the Shop!

Does it make sense that, because Americans have found diets and exercise programs to be ineffective, bookstores are literally flooded with new diet books?  Every magazine, too,  screams headlines offering you the next miracle diet which will finally end your quest to lose your unwanted weight.  Within this paradigm, a constant flow of new diets and exercise programs is a must!

Rest assured, a good diet and regularly moving your body are important things.  These recommendations are not wrong.  But the paradigm within which you’re enacting these recommendations is wrong!

Quantum physics shows us that the machine paradigm is 100% wrong.  The smaller parts of larger things do not exist to serve the functioning of the larger entity.  And they most certainly do not function (nor respond to changes) in predictable fashion!

Put the Machine in the Junkyard and Begin Thinking  of Yourself as a Big Group of Voluntarily Cooperating Free-Agents

The machine paradigm has been replaced by a new paradigm (which will eventually become the “conventional wisdom” of the 21st Century because it is truly reflective of how our universe functions).  You might not be using this new paradigm yet, but your children (and grandchildren) will.  But you don’t have to wait until this new paradigm is universally accepted and used; you can start using it right now to lose your unwanted weight!

The new, accurate paradigm which quantum physics has given birth to is called Holism.  Holism says that the smaller parts of larger objects (like your body) are whole systems in-and-of themselves.  And these smaller systems function independently (and sometimes even in opposition of) the larger “thing” they comprise.

So how can adopting holism help you lose your unwanted weight?  In my next blog entry I’ll tell you a story about how your body functions that will probably amaze you (as it also illustrates holism in action).  Stay tuned…

Why Playing Dominos Can Keep You From Achieving Your Goal(s)

If you’ve identified yourself as someone who will benefit from a paradigm change (see my last blog entry), let’s take a moment to examine your current paradigms which are causing you to not attain nor achieve your goal(s) – such as, but not limited to weight loss.

I Thought I Was Done With All This Stuff When I Graduated from High School!

If you remember, the science of the first scientific revolution determined the following about our universe:

  • Each “thing” (including the universe itself) is made of smaller parts with predictable functions.
  • For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
  • The observer and the observed are two separate things.
  • Things occur in a logical, linear fashion.

From these “facts” (hint, hint…you’ll soon learn how quantum physics has re-written these rules), paradigms were created that, unless you choose to objectively examine/change them, form your complete world view.  These paradigms form the fishbowl in which you swim, so to speak.

Here’s the Reason I Risked Putting You To Sleep Just Now

The predominant paradigms which are the most common culprits for keeping you from achieving your goal(s) are:

  1. The machine paradigm – This paradigm can also be called “deconstructive” because it forces us to view ourselves and everything in our world as machines with smaller parts.  In this paradigm, we see the ourselves, and everything else, as comprised of smaller “parts” whose sole function is to make the larger “machine” function.  Within this paradigm, if we want the larger “machine” to function better all we need to do is “fix” it’s parts.
  2. The action paradigm – This paradigm states that action is the single most important component in changing, or having an effect, on anything.  If we want something to be different, this paradigm tells us that we must focus on actions to alter it.  Without action there is no effect upon the world (or ourselves).
  3. The detached observer paradigm – This paradigm tells us that we are non-involved observers of all we see unfolding in front of us.  Think of the stereotypical scientist observing an experiment and taking notes and you’ve got a good idea of what this paradigm teaches us.  You are a passive “viewer” and everything which occurs around you is a “movie” that you have no part in making (unless you get directly involved by taking action).
  4. The logic paradigm – This paradigm teaches us to expect a logical order of events to occur when we take specific action(s).  Think of a line of dominos, placed on end; when the first domino is pushed a chain reaction is triggered which topples each one in order.  When you take an action you can expect a logical result to follow and, similarly, you can trace actions backwards to discover the root cause of anything.

These ideas sound very familiar to you, do they not?

These Are All the Ideas Our Lives Have Been Based On; They’re Why We Do What We Do

You undoubtedly believe these things and you should (until you learn differently) because these have been the paradigms of the Western, industrialized world.  You were taught these paradigms, sometimes explicitly and someones subliminally, by well-intentioned people who also believed them and based their lives upon them.  And you adopted them because that’s what everyone else does!

But what if I told that the science those paradigms were built from is not an accurate explanation of how our universe works?

And, if that last statement is true (and it is), is it not easy to see that the paradigms built from that science would not be accurate either?  And, since they are not accurate, isn’t is easy to see why those paradigms are not the most effective “fishbowls” in which to live?  Isn’t easy to envision that if the rules of those paradigms are not accurate, they might have been failing you?

It’s Time to Put Down Your Bat and Grab a Basketball!

Almost like you’ve been trying to play a game of basketball – using the rules, equipment, and playing field of baseball?

If you have experienced frustration and even feelings of failure because you’ve been unable to realize your goal(s), despite your best intentions and hard work, you have great news coming.  You no longer have to ineffectively spin your wheels within your old “fishbowls” because the science of the second scientific revolution, quantum physics provides us with new paradigms that are infinitely more accurate and aligned with how the universe really works!

In my next blog post, we’ll start to look at the science of the second scientific revolution and begin examining how you can use it (and the new paradigms to which it gives birth) to finally start achieving your elusive goal(s)…
